I have baby fishes!!

Hubby saw something moving in the water and thought it was tadpoles. Longer he looked he noticed there were black ones, clear ones and white ones. When I got home from work he told me and I scooped the net through and pulled some up to look at them. Sure enough, tons of them! I wonder what they are, just goldfish! LOL I have shubukins, sarassa, a black moor, an albino catfish and just got four koi for Mother's Day. I wonder how many of them will make it before they get eaten or something?!

If you can, separate them. If not....it's nature at it's finest. They are probably "mixed breeds" of the goldfish variety. And they probably will have more all summer long cause mine certainly do. You'll be pleased if they don't all survive....we're talking waaaayyyyy too many little fishies!! LOL

Oh, by the way,,,,,congrats Grandma!! :)

I remember my mother having an aquarium when I was small and her telling me the fathers ate the babies. She had a small plexiglass type box to hang inside the tank to keep the babies separate. How the heck would I do that in the pond?? LOL Realistically I did figure nature would take it's course, but it sure is nice to get something for FREE. :) Fish ain't cheap. I figure my pond is close to 3000 gallons give or take. I need to find one of those charts to figure out how many inches of fish I can support. Hmm, then a way to measure the fish. Giggle

In a pond that big you may indeed get some that survive so long as they have safe places they can hide. Isn't it fun to watch nature?

Hey Zany! How goes it?! Actually I didn't even know what they were when I found them. LOL I have seen tadpole/frog eggs and they look like little eyeballs. The other day I was pinching off floaters to get them to multiply and when I pulled out a hunk, they were full of clear jelly balls. Mystic told me those were indeed fish eggs! I still don't know which fishes made them. LOL Thus far they are tiny, but cute.
