KathyJo, I had to laugh about your ewes, we're watching Joy (or as Stan calls her, NoJoy - she has a wicked kick!) and if you can imagine a Holstein as wide as she is tall, that's her. She's back up in the milking pasture, sort of, so she's closer to the barn and she's been waddling up and down the lane trying to decide if she wants to be alone, or near the other cows. There's one little patch of woods that the cows can go to, and when she isn't moving, she's back there. She turns around and around like a dog getting ready to lie down, and then she walks back down the lane to the cows. I don't see her right now, maybe she finally decided and is back in the woods getting it over with!
We've had rain overnight, and a wet weekend by the looks. Stan was hoping to get a lot of hay chopped while our SIL had the days off from school, but it looks like it's not going to happen. Weathermen drive me crazy, they talk about how there will be sunny breaks and you can do whatever you want. I'd like to get some of them out here during harvest and let them get an idea of what we need to know. They all have "picnic" mentalities: the weather doesn't really matter, as long as you can get your fun in!
Oh well, not like they can change it, but it would be nice if they didn't always try to put a good face on it, if it's going to rain, tell me it's going to rain.
Guess I'll have to do housework - EWWWWWWWWW!! I need to get the study and the studio cleaned up so I can use both of them. The studio is a lovely little building that Stan put up for me when we lived in the trailer and I had no place to write. It's been kind of abandoned except for storage since we moved into the house - the electric and gas came out of the trailer and Stan just hasn't had time to change things around out there. I have several large boxes of pine cones waiting to become wreaths and a bunch of other stuff that I could be doing. The study is in the house - 1/2 spare bedroom, 1/2 office, all messy.
Onward and upward,
kathleen
