KBS is a beauty, you are right. Alreay in U states?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Yes, it is here. I have one of them. It originally came to me as Amarillo Paja, but Monika said it was KBS. I love it and was lucky enough to keep a cutting this year. The mother plant evidently can't take much cold. She was in the garage and did not live over.

Thank You Shirley!!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It's in Canada too, I love it.

Auburn, WA(Zone 8b)

I was given a small plant last summer identified as Amarillo Paja. It has not bloomed yet but it certainly does hate the cold. I've put it back in the greenhouse. It will be interesting to see if the flowers look like these. I hope so! Does KBS have really big leaves? I will ask the person who gave it to me where it came from.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Ludger, you take such outstanding pictures. It is so effective to have the background black and the blooms highlighted. Donna

Thank´s Donna:-)

There is a remark in the back of the translation of Monika's book about Amarillo Paja & KBS. It says the two varieties were confused for several years & that the parents of AP are known (which plants are they?). Someone else mentioned that AP was from seeds from LBJ (who's that?). A Gallery listing says AP is Swiss.
Can anyone straighten this out, please?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Sewcrazy, AP usually stands for Apricot Queen. Amarillo Pajas mother is a suaveolens hybrid, therefore Amarillo Paja cannot be a versicolor hybrid as being offered as such on european web sites. Amarillo Pajas hybridizer is the late Mme Mosimann, a lady from Switzerland. She is also the hybridizer of Hofwil and Mobisu. The Amarillo Pajas, I have seen in german collections have all been KBS - Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf.

Thank you, Monika. That definitely helps. I'm still trying to soak up all the info I can. I guess I'll just wait & see to find out which one (if either) that I have.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I think Patrice Dreckman hybridized Amarillo Paja.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Please help me! Who is P.Dreckman.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

will the real hybridizer stand up?? :)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OK....I confess it is me!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oops, I was wrong. It's not Dreckman's hybrid.(I haven't a clue what I'm talking about, please just ignore me while I have a blonde moment)

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

LOL Kell! I knew it was you, it has a hint of pink. You should be proud!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Liz.........
and Susie.......... since you are truly a blonde be thankful it was only a blond moment and not a blonde lifetime.............LOL!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I am having a blonde week. I think I will be a brunette next week! Now, if I told you WHY I thought he was the hybridizer, you would really laugh at me, so I'll never admit that!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You better borrow some of Dee's red dye before she dumps it........LOL!
