powdery subtsance on my Tropical Hibiscus?

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi, I have a Tropical Hibiscus tree..and the leaves have a powdery sustance..on both sides of the leaves..and many of the leaves are turning yellow and falling off..also the leaves are hanging down more than usual..can anyone tell me what I should do for this..and what it might be..it is almost like a fine dust..
I have over wintered it inside..and today I really noticed it..I can wipe it off..just like you would do with dust..but..it is on both sides..so it can't be dust..
Please help.
Cheers,
Carol

I've never had this happen, but if it did, I'd probably find a product that will work on Powdery Mildew and spray the leaves top and bottom. That is what it sounds like, but without seeing it up close, I can't say for sure. At least most of the sprays won't hurt things, but if you are concerned, spray a few leaves to start and see what happens.

I sprayed it with fungicide..sure hope it recovers.
Thanks for the advice..

BUT......ta da..let me show you my new Tropical Hibiscus I bought today. I have always wanted a yellow one and when I was shopping for a few new plants I came across this one..only $29.00..it is so pretty. It will look lovley beside the red bush type I already have. The sick one is a double peach coloured one that is like a tree..
Cheers,
Carol

Hey, that is a cool one. I love yellow flowers. Makes everything seem so springy. Looks like you have a few flowers too.......don't ya just love spring?

Yes..I do love this time of year..so many ideas dancing in my head..so many new plants to discover..and watch to see how they grow.
They told me to repot it in a bigger pot though..so I will have to get a new one.
