Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Welcome back KMom. I always enjoy your posts too. You are such a good writer. It makes one feel as tho he/she is right there with you.
I have nearly all the garden planted. Just a few Painted Serpant & Armemian pale green cuke cukes and more zukes mostly in the washer tubs. The potatoes are all doing wonderfully. Jack put a deep layer of leaves on the last planted bed of potatoes the other day. That will control the weeds and help keep soil temp constant and the moisture in the soil where it needs to be. It also keeps the soil from splashing up on the leaves. The first bed is up so tall I doubt we could get the leaves in there. I want to start taking the larger house plants outside today or tomorrow. Some of them will be able to take fairly hard winds and will greatly benefit from the rains, fresh air, and sunshine.
Lots to get done today before I leave for work early so I can set out some annuals in the beds at the cafe'. I'm eager to see how the tomatoes and peppers are doing a week after being planted. Also wonder if the cannas we planted are coming up yet.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
