We had 8 border collie puppies on March 31, 2002. By the time they were five weeks old they had turned my Bleeding Hearts/Columbine/Celandine Poppy bed into crop circles. We put an electric fence around all the different flower beds (thank heaven for Fido-Shock). But there wasn't a way to keep the lawn. We are down to five but they still reek havoc with everything we've tried on the lawn. Does anyone have any suggestions about which grass is the most durable for 'heavy traffic.' Also landscaping ideas ... we have resigned ourselves to the fact that we have to put paths where they run regularly. We were going to put chat on the paths ... they have been kicking it up when they run. We can't afford paving stones ... though we have found a few through rock hunting. Any hints? Also, we are still looking for homes for a couple of them ...
