New Brug Family Members

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

The Tropical Flowering Tree Society held it's Tropical Flowering Tree Show and Sale today at Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami, FL. The mosquitoes were active and the weather was hot, hot, hot, and sunny, but I had fun! I felt like I was in an earthly paradise surrounded by all the flowering trees and plants. My $100.00 budget and my small car saved me from going bankrupt. :-)

Kell posted a photograph of a beautiful Golden Lady this week so I had to buy one today. I also purchased a Herrenhauser Garten. Any advice for taking care of my new babies will be greatly appreciated. It has only been six months since I acquired my first brugmansia so I'm still a novice.

******I have not been able to upload a photograph of my new family members. I will try to upload the photograph tomorrow.******

That sounds like a nice plant show to go to. You purchased two good brugs, before long, you will need a bigger house and a GH, if you don't already have one. Brugs are very forgiving, they just love water and fertilizer.

Things are still working kind of slow on DG, so try again to post pics, would love to see them

Gloria:

You're absolutely right, I need a larger house and a larger yard. However, since I'm trying to create a tropical jungle look, things just might work out for me here. LOL

That is a very good start. We have an acre of land, I'm filling it up as fast as I can!

Delecie,
Another Glory here....if you are ever in the Biloxi MS area stop by and I'm sure there will be a cutting or two hanging around here you can have. Welcome to the world of Brug addiction!!!!

Just got back from Fairchild. What a great time!! Although I did not buy any brugs, I was able to make it back home with a corkscrew vine (Vigna Caracalla) and a Queen's crape myrtle... Would had stay there all day if it wasn't for the heat.

Delecie, I wish you much luck with your new brugs. Hope they will have a very early bloomingtime.

Ludger:
Thank-you for the well wishes. I'll be sure to post blooms when the time comes.

OlgaN:
I agree with you about having a good time at Fairchild and the heat. I was tempted to go again today but both my wallet and my mind (because of the heat) screamed, "No!" :-)

Glory:
If I'm ever in Biloxi, MS, I'll definitely look you up. It is becoming more apparent that I can't resist a Brug! :-)

Kell, I will second that!
