Ok, true story:
Yesterday I was getting a delivery of plants..the driver, a young 20ish fellow and I were having a conversation. He said his new wife loved vines.."she is vine freak" he stated. He then started to tell me about one of her vines that looks like a festering wound...."HUH?..a festering wound" my mind pondered. My curiostiy got the best of me..I asked him to describe the vine. As he started telling me about it, it dawned on me what kind of vine..
"A passion flower vine?" I asked. "Yeah" he said. "That is it, that is what she calls it." So I stood there with a blank look on my face. I am still trying to figure out why he thinks the flower on a passion vine looks like a festering wound. He tried to explain it to me..Heck, I still don't get it.
I don't know where I am going with this story, but I thought it was funny. I'll never look at a passion flower the same.
Festering wound vine....
LOL........so I'm sitting here trying to picture in my mind what a passion flower has to do with a festering wound.....LOL
Now you see, what popped into my mind was Aristolochia--Dutchman's Pipe. That might look more like a festering wound--but a Passiflora? Hope I don't meet that one.
