need help quick

I'm having a problem with ants that are getting into the dogdish. this just started today.........does anyone have a solution. I don't know what to do. I have tossed out two bowls already because they were covered with ants when I checked on them. The ants seem to be coming right up through the carpet by the wall. never had this happen before. I sprinkled some peppermint but that has not helped either.

I hope someone has an answer as I can't keep throwing out dog food like this :(
