Is there just 1? Looks harmless to me, but I know nothing!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

yeah, just found one..........LOL
I was having fun taking close-up pictures with my lenses :)

and a great closeup picture at that!!! So you have a fancy digital with special lenses? I wonder if I could advance to such a camera. Mine is so convenient, smaller than a cigarette pack. But it would be fun to get a better one.

no, I wouldn't say I have a fancy camera :)
It's a Sony Mavica FD-73.........doesn't have memory but takes regular floppy disks to put pictures on. Way more convenient if you ask me since if I run out, I just go anywhere and buy more disks if I'm not near a computer. So great to have on vacation since those memory chips cost half a fortune. I just got 2 lenses for it yesterday. Bought them brand new on Ebay :)
So it's not really a fancy camera, just very convenient for me. Got it at half price when I worked at Office Depot and Corporate accidentically messed up and put it on clearance. By the time they caught their mistake 2 days later, they were all sold and I got one of them :)

WOW this camera sound sgood! And what a deal you got. so it says it has auto macro up to 1 inch away which is pretty close. Why did you need a new lens? It looks compact, how big is it? I love that mine just fits in my pocket. I carry it with me..... LOL, you never know what you may come upon!

I could never get something close enough so I got a 2x telephoto lens and a wide angle lens that has macro capabilities. Check this out. Took this picture of a malva zebrina leaf and I had the lens touch the leaf :)

That looks like a Love Bug(aka Telephone bug)to me but I have never seen just one love bug.

Gee Flowox, do you see all that brown on that leaf? I wonder what that is.........LOL!!! Great close up! too good if you ask me. Never dare take a pic of my skin with that.......... lol......there would be no secrets left!

Flowox, I have a Sony Mavica 95 and I love it. Using the disk is really neat especially when you can do a disk copy within the camera and give someone a copy of the pictures you have just taken. Mine has a 20x zoom which comes in handy taking pictures of hummers. It's downfall is that you cannot put it in a pocket and it gets heavy on my neck after awhile.

Susan,
I have a Sony Mavica FD73 too! Mine has a 10X zoom, but it appears that you have gotten a lens to enable you to take clear close ups? What kind/model number is your lens? I'd like to try to find one. I find that my close up pics are blurry and distorted now.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

you know what Joan, mine is a 10x zoom too but that's only the optical zoom and not the digital zoom :(
Anyway, got two lenses........one is a 2x telephoto lens and the other one is a wide angle macro lens. The macro is what got me to take the picture that close. I can actually touch the leaf with my camera and it will get all the vaines in the leaf, like in the one above.

I got them both for $59.95 on Ebay. Search for 47st photo on ebay, they are the company that sell them there. They are a photo company with great feedback and they are quick too. Paid on the 2nd, which was a Friday and had my lenses on Wednesday. The lenses are listed strangely though so it can be a bit confusing but if you look through their listings of sony lenses, just check for a 37mm thread and that will fit your camera. If you need help, let me know and I'll look one up for you and send you the link :)

Thanks Susan, I'll look tomorrow. It's time for me to hit the sack soon if I'm gonna get to work tomorrow. If I get on ebay now, I'll be there for hours. :) I'll let you know if I have any questions.
