Passport flaw leads to password gambit

"A serious security flaw in Microsoft's Passport service put customers' accounts, including their personal information and credit card numbers, at risk of being hijacked."

Yet another reason why I get nervous when I find services that require the use of Microsoft's Passport service. Should we trust our credit cards (and perhaps even more critically valuable information) to a company who has proven to be untrustworthy?
