Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Well, where is everyone? Has anyone heard from or about Skyblu? I have heard there was a tremendous amount of tornado damage in her home town of Stockton. I wish I had her phone number to call and check on her.
Jack and I went to the cafe' yesterday afternoon and helped plant canna, tomatoes, peppers, marigolds, etc. The area for the perennial bed is really muddy and they thought it needed to dry and be tilled again before planting anything there so we'll work on it next week sometime.
Today I'll pick up an elderly friend and we'll make our annual May trip east on highway 50 to our favorite greenhouses between Sedalia and Jeff City. This year we plan to go on up past Jeff City and south a few miles to the Missouri Native Plant Nursery. Neither of us has ever been to that nursery so it should be very interesting. They have a couple shrubs I want to get starts of so we do have a good reason for going. We'll likely eat lunch at KFC in Jeff. That's our favorite place to eat.
I got quite a bit of weeding done in the evening yesterday. Kyle and Shad got out sprayers and finally got one working for me to use tomorrow when I get home. There is so much herbiciding to get done to control weeds and grasses in and around some of the beds. Hopefully we'll get more of the brush pile shredded next week and a good layer of mulch down to help control the weeds. I may even break down and buy some Preen to apply and prevent more weed seeds from germinating this summer.
I do hope someone has time to post soon. It's lonely here on Farm Forum.
GOD's blessings on all of you.
