Pollen Q's

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

How do you collect pollen from a brug and how do you keep it stored? How do you pollinate yours?

I'm just wondering how to get it to seed :)

I use Susie's method, I take a small brush and brush the pollen into a tube or onto a paper plate. Let it dry a couple of hours and store in the freezer. Get it before the bugs mix it with pollen from another.
here's a short movie that shows how to put it on. (may take a few seconds to load)

thanks for that link to the video.........makes sense now.......LOL.

Why do you have to freeze it though?

to keep it 'fresh'. You can store it in the fridge for 2 weeks. Make sure you use pollen from plant A to put on plant B.

ok, then how do you get plant A to get seeds though?

Got the pollen and put it in the freezer :) Now I just have to wait for one of the others to get buds and flower :)

put plant B or C pollen on it:) right, unless you have pollen ready, first flower just sits there and looks pretty:) but you'll have a whole season to get them going.
