After I put my brug outside,the leaves on top looked like they might have spider mites,though I couldn't see any.I read somewhere to spray a mixture of half alcohol and half water.Well,I didn't have any alcohol so I mixed the water with 80 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. I guess if it dies it will die happy. At least I have a cutting from it that's doing great...LOL

*lol*lol* Good I am not one of your spitermites *lol* I once tried a glass of 80 % Vodka many years ago. A guy from France named Patric and some German girls was on tent camping and I ran into them on the beach and we gathered later that night over a bonfire on the beach with beers and guitars and then Patric poured me a half glass of that vodka and after 15 minutes I could not walk after a straight line *lol*
We won a bottle of champaigne(sp), quessing names of songs.
Next day at work, I was sooo... thirsty all day, everytime I leaned over the drinking fountain for a drink of water, almost fell in.
Hehe Gin Ky bourbon will kill anything.Or at least make them forget what they where there for. You will either have very happy mites or dead ones. lol

Gin, if your Brugs formed these leaf tips in the GH or indide it can also be wind damage, but you are probably right about the mites :)

Gosh, I needed this laugh. Been a long weekend and a hard day at working in the yard today, so the booze/water spray was a great pick me up. Still laughing.
OK...you folks that think I can't grow a BRUG...let me tell you sumpin!! At this very moment I have 3 Brugs in pots (Cala gave me one....well, she gave me 4 but I killed 3 of them right off....and Farizona brought me 2 more) I also have about 5 seedlings from some "hussey's" that Cala parted with!! Gee....Maybe my Cousin GinLyn is on to something!! Ginny....Will "Papa's recipe" work just as well??? LOL Jo

kell, I don't see any more damage so far.The leaves are all nice and strong looking so at least I didn't harm it.I knew that bottle of bourbon might someday be used(it was a gift and no one in my family likes it)but "spider mites" never entered my mind,LOL

Never though about booze...I have lots of it and nobody drinks around here maybe I'll give it to the bugs too. LOL I can see it now....little spider mites sitting on the Gazebo with their teeny weenie Mint Juleps. I know I been out in the sun too much!!!!
