Hello farmers. Is everybody busy today? We have some light rain but it is clearing now and hopefully will warm up soon. This morning our temperature was 36 with light rain and about a 10mph wind. The snow line is low on the hills again but thankfully still above us. Now (at about 11 am) it has warmed up to 40. Last week I bought some red, white and blue petunias to plant in half barrels next to the gate leading to our back door, the door we use nearly all the time. They spent a day or two on the porch under a roof and yesterday I moved them out to the porch steps so they would get some rain. I hope this change in climate from greenhouse to reality wasn't too much of a shock, they look ok. Might as well plant them in the barrels now, the damage, if any, has been done.
Yesterday I started enlarging a flower bed so I can move some crowded plants into it, today I'll work on that some more, plus haul some compost for another bed under the eave of the porch and water those plants. That is if the rain doesn't return.
A while ago I tried to post a picture but all of Dave's site isn't working yet so that effort was a failure. It sure is a shock back to reality when we expect things to work perfectly as usual and suddenly they don't. We are spoiled! I'm also having problems getting a whole picture to download from the forums, they start and get stuck with about 1/4 to 1/2 of the picture, usually sky or tree tops. Dave must be running in circles trying to get everything put back together for us, bless his heart.
Have a good day everyone, count your blessings.
