Purple iris shows up

I'm so excited! My first purple iris bloom came up yesterday! Yea! As soon as I find my digital camera I'll take a picture.

Play your flute and be happy. Kokopelli (Spelling?) has always been one of my images of the Southwast.

I gave up on tall bearded iris because of the borers which overwinter in our area in native plants and cant be eradicated but there is truly nothing like the bloom of iris to set off the feeling of Spring.

Here is the iris. It really is a bit more purple than this picture shows. There are many more buds. Some iris are 3ft tall!
I love it!

NotMartha: Is it a white, and does it have a bluish tint. My white ones are starting to bloom and have a really pretty bluish tint to it.
