Murate of Potash(granular)

Murate of Potash(granular)-gets rid of algae in the pond & is good for pond plants-where can you buy this? Will it make fish sick or kill them?I don't want to use it if it will harm my koi or gold fish.Thank you for any information on this.

CC: A good nursury should carry it. It is not harmful to fish. Muriate of Potash comes in a 4 lb. sack and cost about $2.50. Hope this has helped.

Thank you so much Debby!!

I've forgotten the amount to use, can anyone help?

I forgot to ask how do you use it-just throw it around the pond or ?

okay, I think I found the right answer for us:)
1 tablespoon per every 1000 gallons of pond water or 1/4 rounded TEAspoon for every 100 gal. Add this once a month during plant growth

CC: You have to disolve muriate of potash in water first, then add to pond. Take a pint jar and collect some of the pond water and then put in the muriate of potash and stir or shake until disolved, then add to pond. Or can use tap water.

I've been trying to find or remember the amount I used. Will go with what Tig found, until my alzheimers gets better.LOL..
