Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

G'morning all!

Remember me?

Yesterday we put aside our work and took off in the boat. We went fishing. It was a beautiful day. Sally caught her very first fish, my was she excited. In fact, she out fished us! LOL! She caught 7 little perch. They were kinda tiny, but we kept them and fried them up for her last night. She is talking about the next fishing trip already.

I've been buried under making strawberry jams and jellies. The season is closing and I wanted to get my stock of jams made for the up coming market season. I put up 3 flats of berries which is about 6 cases of jams. Whew, talk about work...I am a gluten for punishment because I would like to put up at least 3 more cases. I think they will sell good at the market. I made Strawberry-Banana Jam, Strawberry-Pineapple jam, Strawberry Marmalade, Plain Strawberry Jam and Sherried Strawberries. Quite an assortment. One evening I spent the whole afternoon pressing strawberries to make jelly. Now that is work...only to find the next day me dropping 4 cups of pressed juice in the sink...AHHHH! I could have cried, I think a small tear did escape as I threw down my things in disgust and went in the garden to sulk. SPeaking of garden...yay! I have several green 'mators ...ooooo, can't wait to eat that first ripe one!

Have a good day all, don't know when I'll be up for air..haha,take care all

Oh Mary! Thanks for the goodies you sent! I love the articles. Mighty tempting to catch a plane and see you.
