I have decided to "adopt" the neighbor lady's brug. Here is a picture of it in bloom. The blossoms scent is almost enchanting. I'll enjoy hers and leave room for other things in my garden.
My adopted brug
LOL Is that hanging over you fence? You are a mature person I see. I am not. I see, I want for myself immediately!
Sounds like a good deal. You get to enjoy the beauty and fragrance and your neighbor has to water and fertilize.LOL
Sounds like a good deal to me too. But like Kell I would want one of my own, and then another and another . . .
adoption? I think I would have to kidnap that one, or at the least "mug" a cutting or two off of it. you know the brug addiction starts out innocently enough----some one sends you a few datura seeds----then a brug cutting---then you begin to mix your 'brugs'-----all kinds of brugs you call it hybridizing---but deep down you are searching for that ultimate brug buzz. but the you cant control brugs --they control you!!!! you turn to life of crime--------you post silly theatrical relies----- you hang out it brug forums----where will it end?
I only have a small back yard to begin with, so I will take advantage of not having to plant a brug in mine by enjoying hers :) Besides, I don't have a lot of time to primp, prune, water, and fertilize plants. Normally I stick with native plants (i.e. ones that grew here when Columbus discovered America). I will take the time to prune and fertilize azaleas, but those are all in the front yard. Here was the azaleas at their peak this spring...
Very pretty. They are much bigger than I've seen them. Guess it helps to live in the south where they don't die back from freeze all the time.
great azaleas! I also have a small yard. I just cram everthing in! LOL
Brugie, if I didn't hack them back at least 1-2 feet every year, I'd have 10 foot azalea trees! The things grow like weeds down here--not that I really mind :) I love my azaleas. If I ever live somewhere that I can't grow them, I just don't know what I will do...
