Hi, I'm looking for a Kumquat bush and a lemon tree {MEYERS?}or any kind. When I lived in los angeles we had them and I loved it. I want to try to grow these inside.
looking for Kumquat or Meyers Lemon
Hi Barb,
I would definately go for the Meyers lemon! I had one in my living room for 2-3 years until it succomed to spider mite. I had it right up next to our passive solar window and picked fresh lemon for fish and iced tea. Meyers lemon although very tart has a really nice sweetness to it. I'm sure it would make great lemonade. If you have luck finding one at a decent price LMK. I'd love to have another one. I'll let you know if I find one myself.

gurneys has a special, on frangrant citrus combo.

Home Depot in Ohio and WV don't seem to carry Meyer lemons. (Sigh).
I am trying to sprout some seeds - don't think they are either dwarf or improved.
Ok, seeds are gone now.
Love, Lavanda
(mebbe next winter when they are in the markets again)
Meyer Lemon was developed for the San Fernando Valley here in Calif. The skin is thinner and they love hot weather, must have it. Not as sour, and my daughter the gourmet cook loves to put lemon in all the vegetables that she cooks.
Can Meyer Lemon be started from a cut? Would seed be true, how do you know who fertilized the plant.
Can't we just cut one lemon open and get more seed, I am willing to do just that? Email me if this is possible. Norma
That is where my seeds are coming from- a lemon cut open.
I have heard things dont come true from seed, but when we lived in zone 11 as chldren, my sister planted a sweet navel seeds, and within ten years it grew to about 25 feet tall, produced tons of fruit, which was sweet and juicy.
A city irrigation canal ran along one side of our property
closest to the tree, and methinks it had a root from a leak in the concrete canals which encouraged it to grow even more.
There quite a few sources in California for Meyer lemon trees, I know some who have some in their garden.
Unfortunately, citrus cannot be sent to or from Calif, Ariz, TX or Fla.
I just got my order from gurneys. The seedlings are so healthy...they are about 6-7 inches, and look like an excellent root ball.
Pebble, are you gonna take all these plants with you?
I would have thought they would have citrus trees over there you could obtain.
they do, I am moving to citrus country - but I havent seen Meyer lemons or key limes, I will take these with me
