candida Double White...

Unstuffed. LOL. This is the one we nicknamed double stuffed last year. This first flush of flowers are all single and "unstuffed". LOL

Still pretty. I notice that the anthers look dry. Is the stigma okay or is it dry too. Maybe a winter thing?

The anthers dry up very quickly. Last summer was the same. I even tried cutting the flower before it opened to get the pollen but they were still dry. The two smaller flowers opened up today.

I think I would like this one better if it was a single, the tendrils on it have a lovely shape.

Gosh, what a strong flower, it does not need to be doubled.
Such strong and thick flowers you need to get better doubles.

What wonderful flowers! I got cuttings of this one from tiG and they absolutely refused to root-all three of them! With the rest I had 50/50 or better. These must be really picky which means I will have to try again someday. I'm such a punk in refusing to fail. LOL

Don't feel bad. I had four cuttings of Golden Lady trying to root and lost all of them. I've got to get some builders sand.

Shirley honey, I think we just need to hit up Kell. Did you see the big thing she posted and she won't cut off the sideshoots?! LMBO I never had that one either, so I did not kill it. giggle

Michele, I still have the mother plant, so I'm okay. Just wanted to get some rooted for a special person and others for whom ever needed them. Just didn't work!! Nothing new for me though.
