These are interesting looking iris but the name is really intriguing. Any idea why they are called "Walking" iris?

I love this plant and it's walking all over my flower bed. LOL!! It sprouts babies or runners that are heavy, bend down and root into another plant. I'll take a picture and post it when I get a chance.

Yes, please do. From your description it sounds like it propagated much like a spiderplant. I'll look forward to seeing it take a step when you get the photo!

When my Grandmother passed away, I received the plants she had, and several were these walking iris. After several years and not being able to throw away any of the offsets, I am now having a HUGE Spring walking iris sale! They are like Spider Plants but much larger and more beautiful.

I have one of these plants. The name I had was Fan Iris. It has one
bloom at a time, when it dies another one will blossom out of the same stem. I've had up to 6 blooms from one stem. It has bloomed
twice this year. The foliage fans out. I have mine planted indoors.
It receives evening sun, and is just beautiful.
