It just wouldn't die

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I left many out in pots and in the ground last fall because I had to make some choices as to who would live and who would die. This one didn't make the cut. We got down to 9° here. It's in a 3 gallon pot. Well, now it gets to go to the swap at PJ's house. I wish they were all this hardy!

Wow! Cool base for hardy crosses *lol* I would not only call it a survivor, but also a solid base to use in crosses for vacation-Brugs *lol* Simply amazing that it came back. What type and flower is it?

Do you know which one this is? J. Pasko? Mine is extremely healthy, goes through about anything.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

this is stormy's 'Blush'. It has two or three real nice shoots on it, will keep one and share the others at the plant swap. As for type, I think it's a suaveolens type, but I've never seen it bloom, not certain.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

sounds like my kinna plant------cast iron.:)

Bonnie, keep it.
I have one seedling here in a overwintering room ( seedling from my crosses) I did not water it since January because I thought it would be dead...it started new.

May be we should change the pollen.
Hmm, is Blush,cool Blush?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no, not the same. Cool Blush is different. Maybe put some dark pink pollen on it:)

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Rothkirchpollen?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

that sounds good, a very cold hardy dark pink! :)

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Why do you know such about my crossings? lol
Honest again: I am with this program with some german friends.
May be we will find out it.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I totally agree, has to be Rothkirch pollen!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Thank you!

Amazing that it is still growing after that cold. It's definitely a survivor.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, mine in the garage in pots have croaked after we found the garage door open that morning. This one must be a real cold tolerant brug. Maybe you should start crossing that one with others that are more hardy and some day you will have one that I can leave in the ground and have come back in the spring. Boy, that would be nice.
