I moved this from the propagation forum because the plant has already been pruned and they are going to wilt. Are there any tricks for rooting these? I have woody and soft to work with. Thanks!
Rooting Fremontodendron?
In a german site people say it need very long time for rooting.I would remove all leafes and use sandy soil pretty dry with high humidity.
Thanks Ludger! I'll go try. Would you like one?
Yes, I would very like. Next Year, please. I have too much brugs this year...getting one I would like to have much time for caring. Unable to promise it this year.
Try to root some for u and send one later.
Wish you luck.
Too much Brugs? Is this possible?
I think if you planted it up against the side of your house as an espalier it would do well even in winter. I will try to root several.
Jeanne- keep it in the pot! I planted mine, about 12 inches tall beside my GH, where it would be protected. 4 Years ago. It is now 15 feet or more tall, way above the GH! Never loses leaves and blooms very well. Actually I might remove it. I like it but didn't think it would thrive here.
