a dear friend of mine wants to get one of these gardenias...i know nothing about them, but we have read they are a somewhat fussy plant...it would be potted and brought inside in the winter since they are not hardy here in our zone of 5 in mid missouri...any input or growing experience with these plants would help her to make a better choice as to get one or not...thanks in advance

Cindy, look for a "Chuck Hayes" gardenia, it should be hardy in zone 5, if you do a search, there's lots of info on them
