My first seedling :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey Brugie, this is the seedling you sent me last year. It grew a bit. LOL The leaves are a bit wilted because I just put them all out on the porch a few days ago. We are enjoying 80s during the day and 50s at night.

If I understand right, this means it wants to bloom?? Like I said, the leaves are sort of whimpy but it got evicted from the house a few days ago and sentenced to a shady part of the porch.

looking good there!!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

wow, that's tall :o)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes,thats what the leaves do when its ready to set buds!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

now that is an alley tree in the making! Though it puts dread in my heart..........lol............. so I am going to have all those big things in a few months? I may have to buy some land somewhere.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL I keep counting those little cups, thinking if they all live and grow like this one, it is going to get mighty crowded!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Nice looking alley tree. It's so nice and tall when you plant it you might want to stake it so the wind doesn't get it. It looks like you'll soon be seeing buds. Can't wait to see the flowers on it.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Holy Smokes Batman!!

Dripping Springs, TX

How the heck are you gonna keep "Slim Jim" watered in that little pot?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Seedling, heck. That is a tree! Lookin' good.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It sure did get tall Michele. I think you better get a bigger pot for that baby. It just went from youth to adulthood. Looks great. Can't wait to see all those blooms hanging down from that canopy.

The leaves on yours look great compared to mine. With our high winds, they are ragged, and a lot are in the next county.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow, you did a good job raising that baby and now look how big and tall it is. It will soon be beautiful with blooms.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Wow, that's a big seedling!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Snow, you jinxed me! LOL I had to run my three year old back to the doctor and then to the grocery and when I came home, it was laying on the porch! One of the branches broke off so I stuck it in water after removing and cutting back the leaves. If it is green, just starting to get that crackly woody look, is soil or water best?? I am going to get it into a bigger pot soon, maybe even try Monika's permanent pots, but that was the biggest one I had last fall. Believe it or not I think it grew a foot in winter storage!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

You weren't kidding that thing got huge.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Michelle- do you need anymore seedlings? I've got a six pack down stairs with about 40 brug seedlings SO needing to be repotted or given a kinder more gentle home, LOL....
They have been growing really strong for about three months now. Just let me know and I'll get them out on Saturday.

By the way, your seedling is LOVELY! Can't wait to see it bloom.

Wow, can´t wait to see the first flower here.
The picture with the red signes is just amazing, good work.
Thank you for this.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I know some of you don't get thrilled by whites, but I love this because it was my first. The flower was huge and smelled great! This pic is of the only flower I got outside last year: http://davesgarden.com/t/337422/ But I later had four more bloom inside that were blushed pink. I am waiting to see what it does this year.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Michele, you can do either, but I'd just stick it in water until the white lenticles start to form well and then pot it up and keep it in shade until it is rooted pretty well. It will bloom early for you.

PS. Guess you figured out I'm not Snow... LOL!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh and Kristi, would love to know what you have. I have not had time to make an updated trade list but would be happy to trade. I have to get some boxes together to mail tomorrow or Saturday. I do have some extra Leonurus seedlings, Dat seedlings and who knows what else?! Haven't had time to list those either. LOL

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Who said anything about a trade, LOL.... I was hoping you'd feel bad for them and give them a good home *grin*

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Can I send them all back when they are seven feet tall? LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kristi, you are just the best!! With Michele's green thumb, it won't be long and she will have 40 tree sized brugs around the house. Might be hard to find the girls then.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Kristi is swell! I'm getting more Brugs! Wooo Hooo. :) Thanks Kristi!
Oh and Shirley, even if I can't see the girls, I can always HEAR them! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'll bet you can hear them and if it gets really quiet, you wonder what is going on. Been there, done that. Sure glad it is you now. I like them to come to Granny's and visit and then go home.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Michelle, Sorry about that wind you had. I didn't jinx it though. The only one I jinx is root when he starts talking about what nice weather he is having and I'm in the middle of two feet of snow and artic temps. LOL
Better get that baby staked to the ground. :)

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks ladies, you gals are to sweet! Just passing on the 'love' *grin*! Calla was kind enough to share some seeds with me last fall. I seemed to have 100 percent germination. All in all, I must have about 60 or so little plants from that batch of seedlings. Michelle will get half and will contact Calla when they bloom (then me, LOL) my mom will get some. The rest I will plant out here.
I tell you, I have some really good luck when it comes to getting seeds to germinate. When you have ONE talent in gardening, you have to brag about it! LOL****

Wow, is this what i have to look forward to?? Mini sent me some rooted brugs a few months ago,two of the four are alive and growing great guns!!!Now if i can just keep them alive thru the summer i may just get my first brug bloom!!!!! :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Awww Kristi, I am sure you have more talents than that!
Tootsie, you can do it! Getting through summer is the easy part. Keeping them alive over the winter is the hard part!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well I got my brugs from Kristi today and they are very, very nice! I potted them up in Miracle Grow soil and I am betting they will catch up to my big one soon! LOL I had to lug my others in again but will put them out tomorrow. I had two of Bruno's seeds come up and just started a handful of Farmgirls. Good Grief Charlie Brown! Right now I have 62 of those things! What if they all do well?????

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

They will do well. Seedlings are about the best even tho we have no idea what they will look like. You are going to have a ball as long as you don't stress yourself out waiting for them to bloom like Rothkirch. Who know though, could even be better!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL I haven't refused to eat them though. snicker

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Datdog...that's a really good link....I wonder if they have anything like that here in Ireland!....There are alot of stray cats around the farms here!
