Where's my blanket Charlie Brown?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is my White Pearl X Big. It has taken a beating in our horrible winds the last couple of days. Bet she is hardened off now!!

It has a Y, Shirley. How did it bloom?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

That's a nice tree Shirley. Can't wait to see the blooms this summer. You're so lucky that you can put them outside already.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika, it had two flushes of buds. The first flush fell off and the second flush were about a week from blooming and we had a cold spell and I had to take it into the garage and they fell off too. So, I'm hoping for something good to happen this summer.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

looking good, can't wait to see blooms

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

This happens once in a while to me also. I open these buds to have a peak if: it will be a double or whats the shape of the flower will be. I am very curious.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have a feeling that this one is going to be single. I didn't open any of the buds, but they weren't very fat. I did open HG and it was obvious that they would have been what they were supposed to be. Just couldn't keep them on the tree either. I don't feel quite so bad knowing that it has happened to you too Monika.

Terry, tomorrow night it has to go back inside. Getting down in the low thirties. It has been in the eighties for three days now. Our next few days will have highs in the fifties. Big change for me and the plants.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Very nice tree Shirley, even if "only" single flowers..this tree will look very good with flowers,,hmm will look still better...smile.

Shirley, you may get one that looks like Danielle and she is absolutely beautiful. Same cross by Monika.

I would be totally happy with one like Danielle. I think we talked about my getting a phyto at one time to get a cutting of her, but I might as well wait and see what I'm going to get with this one now.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

What a lovely setting for your Brug! I'd love to be sittin there admiring it when it blooms :)

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Looks like a great alley tree to me! Hope I will have one like that this year; am working on it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Vi, and Roz, start some from seeds. They always, at least for me, get very tall and are usually very straight.

She won't stay there very long. When the trees leaf out, she will need more light, so will probably move her out closer to the flower beds and garden where the morning sun will be good and shade for the afternoon.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Looks like I see a big lounge chair there with my name on it,Yep there it is,I can picture a nice cool ice tea and all the digging done.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Plain or with sugar? I can handle that!!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I like my tea like you,Nice and sweet!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Take pictures!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Sure anxious to see what this one turns out like. I'd also like to come and sit in that lounge chair, looks like a nice cool place for summer. Might even be able to take a little snooze?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Shirley, it is really big. I bet it will be full of beautiful blooms for you. Yes Root, she is nice and sweet.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Now who's blushing.....

Gloria, come on over. Would love to have you visit anytime.

Ludger, I hope we do remember to do that. Think I'll go to the Roundup forum and make the suggestion that everyone bring their cameras. Thanks!!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

EEEKKKK a naked brug. Boy, I know that look well. This is why I'm anxious to get mine out. Boy, my husband is going to be busy, busy, busy this spring. To bad he doesn't like to garden. *grin*
Can't wait to see your naked brug bloom Shirley! How old is it?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kristi, this was a new seedling last summer. It has resided in the familyroom all winter, but I had to cut it back some to take it outside because I knew the newest growth would not be strong enough to handle being out there. Then the winds came and I just didn't have the strength to take it back inside. Tomorrow it will go into the garage to save it from the cold. What we won't do for our prized possessions.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

how's your weather Shirley?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Still hanging on Bonnie. It is cooler, but no problems yet. Very dry. Last forecast I saw makes it still safe to leave the brugs outside. At least the wind has died down. Two days of hard wind was wearing me out.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Oh Brugie, this is so neat...I love seeing your brugs, and this one will be spectacular when it isnt quite so naked...
Be sure you post pictures of the blooms..

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Don't know how I missed this thread! So does your baby monster brug have leaves yet? You better be real nice to it........remember the flower Cala got !!

Hey Root, you sure are a sweet talker! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks you all. She is doing pretty well considering that I made up my mind that I wasn't going to move her back in if the weather got bad. We have had rains, cool nights, and horrible winds and she is putting on new growth and starting to green up more. Hasn't been moved from the spot she is in when I posted the picture. Soon I will have to move her out from under the tree so she will continue to get sunshine.
