Natural Spring

chattanooga, TN(Zone 7b)

I bought a house in January in east Tennessee on 1/2 acre. I just discovered last weekend that there is a natural spring in a corner of the property I am thinking about turning into a "meditation/contemplation" garden.

The former owners drained the spring into the gravel driveway. I don't know yet how much water it produces a day.

Is there a way to "contain" the spring to create a very small pond or some other kind of water feature? The spring is on the edge of the garden (really just a weed spot right now) that slopes into the driveway. I can post pictures this weekend, but for now I'd just like to get ideas or some encouragement that there's hope!

Thanks for any input.

You lucky girl!
Post a picture of it,and I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions
My first thought it make a stream bed and let it drain into a pond with a liner

I don't know much about natural springs. My mom and dad have them all over the back end of their property. That area is low lying wetland. They appear out of no where. Some have been there for years and others have dried up quickly.

I wonder if you cleared out the weeds if it would be safe to dig it deeper, would that contain it? I think that no matter what you do to it, that it will look great. Can't wait to see the pictures.
