Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Does anyone have any they could part with? I would so like to get some for my mom. She got a few from Calalily at the Roundup and she just fell in love with them :o)
Let me know and I can send postage to have them sent to her.

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I do! I do! The deck needs to go and be replaced by a patio. This means I will finally have a partially shaded area in my yard! LOL The very first Brug seedling sent to me last spring is seven feet tall now. :) Tell me where to send plants, postage or bribes. LOL

Michelle, that brug should be a beaut this year when it blooms. Seedlings do seem to get much taller. Hope you will post a picture of it.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi Shirley! It seems to have made it through the winter quite nicely. Even when I didn't water, it kept popping out tiny leaves. Now the leaves are quite large and growing uneven from the stems (don't remember the word for it) and I hope that means blooms. I only got the one flower outside, which was white, but the four that came on inside were blushed pink. I will be curiously waiting to see what it does this year. Even if all the blooms stay white, it will be my favorite because it was my first. :) Thanks again!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

I just checked my brug and noticed 3 buds........woohoo. It didn't bloom last year

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey, I got mine today Nancy!! Thanks a bunch! How do you keep yours so short and fat? LOL Not that I have seen a ton of them, but all I have seen are tall and skinny. They look great and thanks a bunch for the surprises!!! I did not get yours out today so it will be Saturday for sure. I will mail as soon as I get home from work. THANK YOU!!

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

you are welcome michele. short and fat? i guess it is the sun and i do have fans going in the gh and when i move them into the hoop to harden off it gets windy in there too. i would say the light. i have no idea i didn't know they were short and fat lol.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I meant short and fat in a great way! LOL I was so surprised to open the box and find such plump healthy seedlings! I think they have triple the amount of leaves of my others. They are awesome!

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

thanks i knew you meant short and fat in a good way. lol just bad humor lastnight. i wish i knew the secret for you but i do think it is the lighting and the wind. this season i used the fans to slightly blow all my seedlings and it seems to be working on making tough little plants. i also watered with super thrive maybe that had more to do with it than i thought.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I took a picture of one of your seedlings (came out of a box yesterday LOL) next to one I carried through the winter. Maybe the difference is in the type of cross or that yours was in active growth while mine was semi dormant. I don't know but wanted to show you what I was talking about. :)

wow i see the difference now. did you have them inside or in a gh. mine have been in direct sun for their entire life. and this is zone 8b so we have it a lot warmer too. and in TEXAS everything is BIGGER lol.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Sad, sad me is in zone 6a and without a green house. boo hooo hooo hoo They wintered over in a window sill on the south side of the house. When I got them they were nice and green and little babies. I guess they have about tripled in size and are woody now. They had never been outside until last weekend. I am assuming they were started in a greenhouse then mailed to me at about 8 inches tall? The one I posted as my first seedling was a tall thin one too when I got it. It is just so interesting to see the difference. Like I said, questioned, it could be because of the variety or the growing conditions. SO MUCH TO LEARN!!

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

michele, i got your box yesterday. thank you for all the surprises.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks for letting me know. I was getting worried.

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

i potted everyone up and they are all starting to stand up and look good again. i have the vinca sitting out in the rain. that will be planted when the rain stops. but i'm not ready to see the rains go just yet. by looking at the ground you cannot tell we flooded all winter. and am not looking foward to the summer drought. it seems my plants grow better with water lol.
