Sweet Coltsfoot

I'm looking for Sweet Coltsfoot. It has huge big momma leaves and its very beautiful.Does anyone have some to trade? Has anyone had experience with this plant?

Petasites japonicus? Not that many people carry it. You have to get it early, I believe it has to be shipped bare root.

I never realized that the one I had was called coltsfoot, I always called it "butterbur". I just did a search on it the other day and read that coltsfoot was one of the common names.

I've had my eye on this plant for two summers. A local nursery has it growing on their grounds and it's just beautiful. They had it potted up in 20 gallon pots for $50.00. That price was way too high. They finally marked them down and I got it for $15.00 last fall. I planted it next to my pond very late in the season. I can't wait to see it in all it's glory.

All I know is that where I live in the wet PNW I put it in a concrete and granite raised bed. It broke through the concrete walls and travelled under a walkway. Be afraid, be very very afraid if you have a moist environment. Also, every single little piece of broken root? A new plant......
