G'morning folks, boy, did we just go through some bad weather. I thought the house was gonna blow down. It has been storming all night, but a really bad rain/wind storm just passed. I got stuck in the milk room waiting it out. It was very dark and the rain was so heavy I could hardly see the house. Needless to say I got drenched coming back inside.
Today we have to the unpleasant job of disbudding the kids(not human kind, baby goat kind). I ordered a good disbudding iron so hopefully the job will go fast. It is going to hurt me more than them. I had Jesse read over the instructions and went to a good website packed full of info on how to do the dirty work. He will have the honors, but I will have to hold the kid down. We also have a kid box to help hold them snuggly. This is not going to be fun, I get a pit in my stomach just thinking about it. But, I must remember, it is for the best in the long run.
We are going to have a cold front come in today...can you believe that??? Unheard of for us at this time of the year. By tonight it will be in the 50's. Wahooo! We will have a nice week of weather after today. It will be a welcome relief from the 80* we've been having.
