Finaly found ...

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

a plant grown here in the eighties under the name B. aurea "Golden Queen". I got four large cuttings, two rooted.

It was a Lady that had a resturant in Jylland and she and her DH is soon moving to one of the islands nearby. I plan to cross to B. aurea "Goldenes Kornet" this summer to determine, if these are identical.

Its a drema come true and I think I will plant this one all over the garden *lol*

Can't wait for your pictures later this summer. You are going to have great ones!!

Tonny, the 3 Aurea X Aurea you sent me are doing well they are all different in appearance! I'm looking forward to seeing mine Y and seeing your Golden Queen flower!

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Kell, I will post them especially for you *lol* The leaves is so different from Ludgers Avalon. These are more thick (succulent) and the flowers get deep golden color. I wish that I could e-mail its smell. It could lit up an entire garden.

Bruno, it would be great to watch these aurea x aurea Y`ing and see the flowers too. I know that they will not be in class with Kirchner-Abel hybrids, but I guess that we will come to like them as they are *lol*

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

My order from the Kircher website should be here soon so maybe when I hybridize them with my own hybrids i'll produce something worth shouting about! Have you seen that hybrids on this page: http://kirchner-abel.de/site/neu2002.htm ? They are some of the most beautiful hybrids i've ever seen! Oh, and be carefull you don't drewl on your keyboard. LOL

Drewl? You nearly gave me a heart attack, Bruno *lol*lol* Wow! These are sheer beauties and without this being an offence to anybody else I think in my personally opinion that Anne is Germanys Brugmansia hybridizer no. 1. and I confess from my heart that I am a fan of her. Anne rules *lol*

Angels Face is a must-have and Cerise Wonder is breathtaking. The EP or ExP based Rosalla could make me forget a lot others that I am planning to buy *lol* and ... and ... and .. note the clarity of both shape and color in Phänomenal (really getting addicted here). Pink Perfection is described as a Brug that will bloom and here finally we apparantly have the choice alternative to the impossible HG. Only a few has broken the code for HG blooming, but similar flowers is now possible with this one.

I will follow your example and mail my order list later this spring. Did you also note the L`Amour type with upright flowers? *lol* Think if these flower types would travel in crosses.

btw. I have a rooted "Golden Queen" in the wintergarden with your name tagged to it.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

I know, I know....I reeeeeally want them all so much too!!!! I want them so much I feel like crying LOLOL I really do. I can't afford many..only a few! :o(

Surely she's the WORLD'S No.1 Hybridizer! I'd love to see what sort of set up she has at her place! Probably huge!

I really feel like dumping most of what i have and order lots more from Anne's website! But i think i'll have to count and add up all my pennys first. LOL

The worlds only upright flowering Brug is called 'Bambina'. Not only does it flower upright...it's pink aurea type and looks very like it has Rothkirch in it's genetic background.

Tonny...Imagine gradually adding more suave genes into the mixture. Imagine an upright, suaveolens type, with a big wide open corrola. Even in white, this would be truly beautiful.

"Golden Queen" for Me????? Gee, Thanks very much! :o)))

Brugs..what would we do without them!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Bruno, those brugs on that link are really beautiful. I hope one day we have many of the European brugs in our country. So tell us, which of those beauties did you order.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Several, but *Whispers* it's a secret! ;o)

Tonny and Lene,
Congrats on your new aurea plants and of course aurea x aurea seedlings as well. I must confess you have very good taste. Fragrance is something that I would take over color it is as wonderful as you say. Ideally, one would have both though.
Cerise Wonder, Super Spot, Rosalla...these are definately to die for Brugmansia.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

I wish I had have ordered Rosalla...The shape reminds me of Taylor Dawn? is that the right name?

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Eric, I agree :) The two together is a combination hard to beat. I am simply so curious to see the versicolor seedlings first flushes this year, because I can not imagine not to find that combination in those as well. I wonder if Cerise Wonder and Rosally has the same parents? It could be an aurea x versicolor cross with those as the two marginal flower types or maybe a result of line breeding. Rosalla has the same broad interacuminate lobes as EP and whiskers worthy of a RK. I simply can not resist the guesswork and I hope some day to put these fantasies to their test in the Brug garden *lol*

It was developing into a veritable bush, but I broke of the large shoots. That was hard to resist not to :)

It sure has grown a lot Tonny. I hope it blooms soon!

There is no Y in sight, but Gerda warned me that it is a late bloomer at her place. I take this as she means that she use to take her cuttings from far down the growth region. My own old plant used to send lots of sprouts up from the base and I guess that this one is a base sprout. In that case there is about one meter to go, before Y`ing, but wow! when it does *lol* She will be so proud, when she sees these pictures and hear that she now grow in several places :) I can`t wait to tell her. I am also curious, if Hertzenbrücke, Morgensonne and a few more grows well for her or if she needs new supplies. She owned an inn in Jylland, but now she and DH has bought a house on one of the many small islands around here. She is so curious to see our Brugs :)
