WOW! That thing is going great, needs to get outside in the ground. Know it can't just yet, maybe slow down a little on the watering, or just let it grow. I have seeds from Shirley MD, haven't even planted them yet.

Gloria, you better get them planted. Mine were pretty slow coming up. Have had them planted for some time and have one plant about 10 inches tall, and three little ones that are just up. All planted at the same time.

Are they growing like cottosnags'??? She's in Iowa also.
Will get them going, have been working on growing my tomato seeds!!!

Mine aren't as tall. Less than half and I started them about 6-8 weeks ago. I didn't have good germination on them either. Out of all the seeds I had, I have had four come up and I sent some to Renee and she only had one germinate. My tomatoes were much better.

I GOT THE SEEDS OFF EBAY--ALL IT SAID WAS LIGHT YELLOW LARGE HIBISCUS--IT SAID THEY GROW 8 FEET TALL--I BELIEVE IT-I SOAKED THE SEEDS OVER NITE THEN PUT THEM IN JIFFY POTS WITH A HEATING MAT UNDER THEM AND IN 2 DAYS 3 OF THEM GERMINATED--NEVER SEEN HIBISCUS GERMINATE THAT FAST--THEY HAVE ONLY BE GROWING FOR 9 WEEKS AND LOOK AT THE SIZE OF HER--ALL 3 PLANTS ARE 17 INCHES TALL ALREADY-I HAVE 4 SEEDS LEFT AND WILL BRING THEM TO THE ROUNDUP IF ANY ONE WANTS THEM

This link will show you the seeds that I have. I'll bet they are the same. Looks like a very interesting plant to grow. I think I'll put mine in a group.

Sounds like a plan to me Elaine. I think it was Shirley in Maryland that I got my seed from. Can't wait to see these bloom. Hope they bloom soon enough that I can save seed for next year. Might even try eating some of them just to see what they taste like.

shirley--thanks for the link--yes those are the seeds i have--i replanted them in larger pots today--i knew they were different from my other hibiscus i have because the stem is hairy--never seen anything grow that fast--we had 9inches of wet snow how much did you get? i also got in the mail today my brug--it is ecuador pink

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Glad your brug arrived. I hope it was okay. We didn't get a lot of snow. I don't think it was below freezing all night. Had quite a bit of rain during the night. South of us about 20 miles, they got an inch but our gauge is upside down until I know it won't freeze and break. Sorry to hear you got so much snow. Hope it warms up a lot this week and melts it all off. Our one little inch won't take long to disappear. Guess the storm we were to get, got you instead. Sorry!!
