I have never heard of a varigated forum. I am not sure it can grow from seeds at all. I have one this year, but it won't bloom. This is not a varigated one.

that is the most common problem but once you can get them to repeat bloom the dont stop. I dont know the answer.

Well, maybe it will bloom? The season is still early. I had one last year that did not bloom either.

are those flowers I can see?

I'll post more info on how to grow these plants when I get home from work. it's all about drainage and feeding

If you do a search on them you can see the flowers, but these are challange plants. I think they come in yellow, orange and red, and I have never seen two color flowers however. I know to plant them tipped or sidewise. I planted 8 this year, and I got one. I planted one last year and I got one.

This is my 3rd. year for them. I have red, yellow and orange. I planted them on their sides on a bed of gravel to prevent rot and put a lot of bonemeal mixed in the dirt. They are one of my favorites and a few are about to bloom as we speak. There are several more coming so should have blooms for a few weeks till they are finished.

Oh, you are so lucky, you have success with my failer plants. I did not plant them in gravel, but the bed is very sandy, I have no idea why only one came up and it appears stunned in growth.

Had that happen like I said last year buggirl. Two came up about 14" then just "pooped" out and fell over. the one blooming now is about 20" high and all the others range from 9-12" at the moment. Don't give up on them, they,ll be around next year for you. I have read somewhere that sometimes they bloom every other year. The sandy bottom should be fine, mine aren't planted in gravel, just a layer under the bulbs and then covered with dirt.

Mine is very short, I had this problem last year, it won't grow taller then 6 inches, and then it won't bloom, maybe it needs the height?

Bug-girl, The problem your having is probably cause your climate doesn't get or maintain a cold period suitable for those bulbs. We have the same problem here if we have a warmish winter.

However, I did the refrigation treatment, it works for tulips.

I just got the Park Seed new catologe and they have them, listed as new. But, the website is not updated with the vargiated ones. I checked.

variegated seed? or bulbs? keep me posted please

San Francisco, CA

Bulbs, seeds are actually hard to find, I have never seen seeds. If you call park seeds you could order it, but I don't understand why it is not on the website.

Brecks Bulbs has the bulbs and I like dealing with them better than Park Seed if you are interested.

I need seeds to send to someone in Australia

San Francisco, CA

Maybe they could order from Park Seeds directly? The thing is I think they would be really hard to germinate if you could find them. The bulbs should ship fine however.
