Brug about to bloom

Miami, FL(Zone 10b)

One of my brugs is loaded with buds, and I just wanted to share a pic. I'm really hoping for a bloom color other than white, lets see what happens.

Olga

Olga, is this a seedling or something you just don't know which it is? good luck, I can't wait for blooms.

Yes, this plant was actually grown from a seedling, and even though it struggled while planted in a 4" pot, it seems to like it's final home. I use an Olympus digital cam, bought it a few years ago and still works great. Another pic of the plant.

Looking good! You seem to know how to grow them. Hope it is a nice yellow or bright pink for you, they all seem to be this color when just starting to open, then color changes.

How many brugs do you have? Wish I lived in zone 10b. Bet you brug will be pretty and I hope it is just what you are looking for. Can't wait for bloom up here.

You are sure to have many beautiful blooms. Let us know what color it turns out to be.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

just wondering---is that a last years seedling? I have lots of hybrid seedlings, n was hoping (tho not bankin on) as least a few blooms----and since hoping is free n still legal---I too was hoping for some really wonderful forms and colors too. Good luck, and may the brugs be with you!!!

I love the way there's so many blooms comeing from such a small area! When it blooms, no matter what colour they turn out to be, it's sure gonna put on a good show! :o)))

The seedling is about 10 months old. At first they seem to take a while to achieve a good size, but once established and counting on good weather it grows as fast as pepper plants do. Our problem here though is that the brugs will pretty much stop blooming once temps get in the high 80's or 90's, which will happen in about 3-4 months.
I am currently growing 7 or 8 brugs, but I'm always looking forward to more lol...

Olga,
I'm in zone 8b and we have the same problem in the heat of the summer. The first Brug I ever bought came from your area...well almost.... Key West. Please keep us updated on the flower.

Good morning! Finally the brug buds have started to open up and a few blooms greeted my with the first rays of sun. They turned out to be white after all, but I am very pleased either way.

There is no ugly brug. Your white one is pretty. Thanks for the picture. It will be some time yet before I see blooms on mine. Can't wait, but guess I'll have to.

I love white especially in the evening when I sit on my back porch. They glisten in the dark. Very pretty! thanks

Olga,
I've had them bloom white like this the first time and on the second flush they had color so don't dispair altogether if you want color. Its a first year bloomer which is a plus in my book. Many people love the whites for the way they accent the garden at night. The way the moonlight seems to cascade on the multitude of blooms as they release their fragrance is to die for as well.

You do have a way with words, Eric. Here in Ohio, I can just see and smell them now sigh....39 degrees.

OlgaN: White is pretty, might change, never know, sometimes second blooms are different.
