I joined DG within the last week and had never heard of a Brug. I have gotten SO curious, am reading these posts and am STILL soooo confused!!! Why haven't I ever heard of this gorgeous flower before?? How could it possibly be such a big secret? Is there a good site to go to, to learn about Brugs??? ....Hmmm....Are Brugs legal?? :)

TamTam, the first time I saw a brug in all its blooming glory, I made the Spouse turn around so I could go and inquire as to what that gorgeous flower/plant was. (It was in a half barrel planter at a garden center) I knew then that I was gonna have more than one!!!! That was 3 years ago, and I have a gazillion of them now. Well, maybe not QUITE that many, probably close to 30 of them, tho. Welcome to the forum, and if you want to know anything, just ask. Lots of wonderful people here that are so generous with their knowledge and excess cuttings. I know, I've been the recipient of both. :>)

I'm new here too (couple of weeks). I saw my first Brug at Biltmore Estate in Ashville. I never see them growing in the landscape here (central SC), but plan to change that. The kind members here have sent seeds that have been planted and now I'm looking every day to see if they have sprouted. Guess I expect everything to happen over night. I have a few extra seed if you would like some.

you know tam tam--theres a darker side to this whole brug issue. surrrrrrrrrre they are pretty, a yesssssssss they smell lovely. but thats how it starts, next you start to surf the brug photo contest page, then the catalogs---soon your skimping at the grocery store, and turning down drive thru window dinners, so you can have "just one more brug' lol tam---there are some very generous and helpful ppl here. I have only cuttings myself, but I bet you could get hooked up this fall. In the mean time, get ready to laughhhh n learn.
