LOL I have never seen such a thing! I just love it so much. Where did you take these pictures Olga? Do they grow in Africa only? thanks

Kell, these pics were taken in Miami Beach where I found several of these trees in a public park. I was thrilled to find out that Adansonia can be grown successfully here in FL, even though it is too large for my garden :)

I wonder if it grows in California. So it is a huge tree.............too big for my yard also then. But I must say I just adore it. I have sent your pics to all my friends........I hope you do not mind.

Well, I don't know if it would grow in Cal. for sure, but being a native tree of South African drier areas I imagine that it could thrive in the more southern parts of the state. In it's natural habitat it gets to grow taller than 80 ft, but the ones I photographed are quite smaller.

I want one for Christmas! LOL

I have seen lots of baobab trees in West Africa, but only during the dry season (Nov-May) when they are leafless and bear fruit. The flowers are said to be very large and beautiful, but they bloom during the rainy season. I have seen dried flowers under the trees.

Oh I so enjoy looking at this one again! If you go back to that park again, take more pics for me! Please! LOL
