Tropical fruits
Growing papaya from seed is extremely easy. Just open a ripe papaya fruit and remove seeds from the core. The seeds are covered by a fleshy material that can be cleaned easily by rubbing the seeds between two pieces of paper towel. Once the seeds are clean they should be let dry for a day or two and then they are ready to plant. Seeds germinate within a couple of weeks and seedlings are very vigorous.

Thanks, Olga. I'll wait until I get a great one. Do they replant well?
Well, that I don't know for sure, but I imagine it shouldn't be a problem to replant. I usually sow a few seeds in the area where I want the papaya to grow, then thin out the weakest seedlings. Since papaya fruit contains so many seeds you should be able to try a couple of different techniques and still have a bunch left for trading :)
