Its a rare asagi or black crow koi.Found it at Petsmart for $3.99 thats unheard of for asagi koi..even if you could find any!!Hes about 3 1/2 inches long.He should look velvety when older if his bloodline is good.I just guessed it's a he!!LOL

He's yours now, right?? he's very pretty. Do you have a place where a black koi would show up? I'd always thought they would just disappear in the water.
He's a beaut and what a bargain you got. Are you going to keep him at home or take him to work to live.

Deb he will live here till he gets to big for a 55 gal tank.He's in a 10 gal now for observation and conditioning.
I took the pic with a digital camera..at an angle so theres no reflection of the flash. He didn't appreciate the flash much!!LOL
I've never heard of a black crow koi, he sure is a looker. Hope he grows out nice for you. Last year I got a gorgeous platinum doitsu at petsmart. At the time I didn't know what it was, but I found out later that he was a nice one.
Did you notice if they had any butterflies this year?
Branka, no butterflies yet..but maybe later. We only had two stores of Petsmart open in the last month.Never had them before..only Petco's. i did get a pale yellow sparkly koi also....we call em diamond backs.We have large koi at work in 4 of our pools...some are two feet long and longer.The zoo has an outdoor pond full of them.But no asagi's. :-)
Heres the yellow sparkly or glitter koi..sometimes called yellow platinum koi.He likes his asagi buddy! :-)
