'Phantasm's Tears' Blooms Again ...FINALLY!!

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

This brug I showed at this forum last year was hybridized 1998 but my then 21 year daughter just graduated
PSU in horticulture genetics. CG x s white
It bloomed once before we near lost it when a greenhouse heater went on a frigid night.
All that remained February 2000 was a 2 1/2' stalk ..that had to fight for its life.

Nursed back from the grave the last 2+ years it has been opening all week.
Anxious, anxious, anxious ..LOL

If like last time it opens chartreuse as seen .. then should turn pure white as it ages.
Long bells with a skinny beginning. Nice fragrance, too.

A HAPPY week here (((o:

The shape of the flowers is seldom seen; do they look the same also in the summer?

Cool picture Alice. Threw me for a bit when you called it a canna though. Creatures of habit, right? I was thing, "man a canna that was green and then white". How cool. Kept reading and then enlarged the picture. Okay, now how about a canna that is green? I'd love that.

Have a great day!!

Nice picture Alice. Can't wait to see it fully opened. I bet you can't wait either. LOL

Sorry about canna )o:
It was late and I was really tired last night. Putting in some very long days lately.
It is change to "brug" now. LOL

There once was a chartreuse canna. Lost and that colour never regained.

Using 'canna' for me is just habit. Cannas are everywhere here, especially this time of year.
Seeds in my pockets wind up in the bed. Seeds in my handbag I forget are there ..I
am asked 'what are those'? I mistakenly left a couple along with my tip in a restaurant last week..
I did not meant to lol. Waitress gave them back after inquiring.
Seeds in the laundry where they have wound up in other peoples clothes. hehe
My family likes teasing ..
Good they are not as jagged as brug seeds.

There is nothing all that spectacular about this brug, really.
Guess I am just excited I saved it.

Monika, it has bloomed only twice so far. September and now.
Now that it is back to good health, I hope it blooms summer so I can compare.
