Hi everyone,
here is a photo I took about 3 weeks ago of one of my "Mixed duds" flats, lol.Well,I finally repotted 64 of those "duds",and I have 2 more filled with about 60 "duds" each.Boy was I surprised!!I have about 25 others in larger pots, plus 12 Sang seedlings,so I guess this year I won't have a problem figuring out what to plant in my allotment!
Ludger, the sand was a great idea,by the way, almost all of the seedlings came up clean, and no fungus gnats.
Gwist
Seedlings galore
Wow, congrats Gwist !! I like to hear such good news. The seedlings look great.
I am shure, one day we will have a european swap, in June I will visit Phillipe in France and may be some friends in Spain.
June, huh, hmmm. You could just swing over here on your way and pick me up!!!I could go to Pamiers from there, and visit my friends at Brassacou.Maybe we could all meet in the middle, but I guess that would be somewhere in the Massif Central, lol.
Gwist, your seedlings are looking great.
I have not planted any seeds since I will be moving in june/july, I am saving my seeds for next year, will they still be good?
Thanks,Pebble. Not too sure about the seeds, but I am sure one of the experts could tell you.Good luck with your move, and I hope it's not too far and stressful.
Lol, I like the Massif Central. We will see...
Pebble, the seeds will be good next year. Water them for some hours before you will sow out them.
Remember: You are ( next season)in a "legal for posting area"...
lo ludger...I hope so....
I am not sure if we will be going in april or not, that is up in the air again, but if we do, I would love to meet up with you in frankfurt if you are anywhere near there...
Gwist, it is both far and stressfull....West coast USA to west coast Turkey....does it get any farther??? I dont think so...the only saving grace is that I will have ideal climate to grow brugs in...I'll be in heaven in that aspect!
oh,that is far!Now I get the "legal for posting area" comment, lol.Well,if you ever want any of these seedlings,or a couple of pounds of Cannas, let me know.I will be happy to send you some of everything in my garden.
Send the date to me and I will be there.
I was just wondering, can you send plants into turkey?
LUdger, it will be on the 8th - oh - I better check the ticket, maybe I leave here on the 8th and arrive there on the 9th. I will send you the details. :) It will be fun.
Gosh, how many seeds did you sow? Looks like you are going to really be in the brug business this year. Put those little guys to work helping you water. They will love playing with the water hose. LOL!!
Gwist,
Congrats with all the seedlings! Maybe some of those "duds" will turn out to be beautiful angels, you just never know. Did the aurea seeds ever sprout? Mine didn't so I guess I won't buy from that company again! Now that's what you call "duds"...lol. I'm glad the sanguineas sprouted for you okay, just wait until summer! Lady BrugGwist is what we'll be calling you. When my arborea seeds arrive I'll send you some, I just know you NEED/GOTTA HAVE some of those.
((hugs))
Hi everyone, I am pretty new to Brugs what is the sand technic to get the seedlings started.

Hi Clayton, welcome here. Tell us about your brugseeds. Which kinds do you have?
Greetings
Ludger
Pebble, I can..post. Monika is next to Frankfurt, may be we can meet together there.
Gwist: I have some arborea, do you need some?
I have a couple of arborea seedlings up now. Yipee!! I better keep these babies alive. This one has been on my "have to have" list for a long time.
Ludger - that would be better than faboulous to get to meet you both!!!! well, I am looking at the tickets now...and it looks like I arrive on the 9th at 8:55am and leave at 13:15 - I didnt realise how long I would be in the airport. hmmm then arrive into Istanbul at 12:35..that doesnt make sense even with the time change it doesnt make sense, I'll have to call them and verify
Smarty pants-I have had no luck with getting the seeds to come up :(
Well Brugie,I just took the rest of what I had, soaked them for a day or two,and threw them into the flats.I still have about 3 or 4 flats with one seedling each(luckily, lol).I really think the sand helped, though.I put about a half an inch on each flat, and these came up within days. The seeds that I planted oh so tenderly, singly in pots didn't do so well.
Joyce, nope not one Aurea yet,but who knows! The Sangs all came up,and now i am hoping the weather stays as nice as it was,so I can put a few outside soon.I am really running out of space, and i just received 5 big bags of seeds from Tonny today...well,I just have to try them, lol.
Ludger,I would love some Arborea if you have a bit to spare. You got mail!
Gwist
I have a few Isabell X Jean Pasko seeds that I received from PoppySue.I have one Charles Grimaldi that I bought last summer and I planted outside and it has about eight sprout coming up on it anywhere from 2" to 5" tall. I will have to cover it up tonight because we are suppose to have a lite freeze tonight. The weather here will not make up its mind.

Gwist! your seedlings look so great. Do you have lots of room to plant them? I wish I could figure out how to get them to flower at 1 foot! LOL. So how is Tonny? How great he sent you so many seeds. He was always such a bright spot on here. Maybe he will come back, he added so much to our converstion.
Can't wait to see these all bloom!
Pebble, I will give a call to Frankfurt airport tomorrow, may be we will not be able to meet because you must stay in international area and I must stay in national area ( I will have no ticket...).
Hope I explained it right...
Will be glad to get more informations about this soon.
Will mail it to you.
Such a mixed thread here...lol
Clayton, thank you for your reply at "starting Brugs from seeds"
Gwist, you got some mails,smile.
Kell,hope you feel well.
Well thank you Ludger! How sweet of you! I feel just great! I hope you do also! Smile!
Well thank you Kell! I believe I belong to the most happy brugnuts because I have found so many friends here at Daves.
Life is too short to worry about some bad people...hope I am right, see your wonderfull Loreley song. Watch the first words..and give the link here, please.
Gwist,
You better have plenty of room for big pots of brugs. You have email!! More surprises for you!
You are so funny Ludger! So full of intrigue! I do not think there are any bad people on Dave's, Ludger. Thank goodness we are all adults, we can disagree with someone, even dislike what they say at times, but we still treat each other with respect and generosity of heart and spirit. Like you Ludger, you are so nice to everyone. You would never make anyone here feel bad about themselves. You go out of your way to make this a special brug family for everyone here, whether you agree with their point of view or not. Thank you! After all, if we all thought the same and acted the same, it would get pretty boring on here! Thank you for caring about me, I think we both feel the same about each other. Brug friends forever!
Hiya Kell, You took the words right out of my mouth! ;o)
Best wishes always,
Bruno

well Kell, not so much space at my home garden, but I have another one that will be ready ,finally,in July.My old allotment is being torn down for the new highway, and the new one should be up and running in the summer(I hope).Otherwise,we won't be able to walk in our garden this summer...ahhhh,obsession,lol!
Ludger, life is never too short to worry about anyone..I worry about everyone, that's probably why I have so much gray hair, lol!!
Gwist
Gwist your seedlings look wonderful! I can't wait to see what you get out of them.
Just a quickie...my brother is here,so I want to spend as much time with him as I can :)! Well now I am even more excited over the Arborea seeds from Ludger!!! Wow,I wiull be starting these over the weekend,so I hope to have a few more pictures to post soon.
Gwist
Hope all of your babies are doing well. I can't wait to get mine out of the house/greenhouse and into the yard to really grow. I can already feel the pinch for time to get to Daves. Everything is needing more care and transplanting. Even though we have snow on the ground today, I think it will be gone tomorrow and we will start having some great temps. Have a wonderful time with your brother now, but when you get time, don't forget to post an update on your babies.
Shirley
Gwist, I am so happy that you received the seeds so fast. Enjoy the germination.
I wish you a very very happy time together with your brother. From where does he come - long trip? It does sound this way...
Happy days to your family
GL
Gwist,
I know you are enjoying your time with your brother and his friend, say hello to him from our family. You don't have that much grey hair, at least it doesn't show in your picture. Get your brother busy with the shovel to help you out. Take care of your back and don't overdo things...remember you promised!
