How old or how big does this plant have to be before it blooms?

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

to answer your question of "How old or how big does this plant have to be before it blooms?" they really do have a mind of their own. Recommend buying one that is already blooming from nursery cause once they bloom they continue to do so. Slow grower but worth it.

WOW does anyone have any seeds they would be willing to part with, I would love a trade of this to try!!

Hondo, TX(Zone 8b)

I can send you seeds, but I hear they're very difficult to grow from seed even in its native Texas. I have trees all over my property, very old ones and many young ones growing wild. I don't know how they'll do in OH. Mountain laurel is an evergreen, and it LOVES sunshine.

Email me your address.

Thank you for the lovely offer, I will send email. Also, i read these seeds are easier to germinate if they are not all the way dried or ripe (not sure if that makes sense) Wondering if you have found this to be true as well?

I've heard that too and will harvest before they're ripe. We're almost there.

Too cool, I am game, willing to try and see if I can grow in very large container as a specimen shrub or tree - will have to be inside in winter months (garage, etc) but so curious how it would fare here!! Thanks again for the offer.
