How can I get one of these bottlebrush Trees? Would like to have one if you could help me. Thank you.
That's a beautiful picture.
They're sooooo beautiful! I have one but it's too bad I can't plant it outside b/c I'm in z7. You're so lucky!
I have a weeping bottlebrush in my yard. This is the third year and an hoping that it blooms soon. It had one bloom last year, but I think the deer ate part of it. There is quite a bit of new growth on it now. Is it normal for it to take this long to get established and start blooming?
I was wondering the same thing. I have one that I planted three years ago. It is getting quite large and still has never bloomed.
Yup, they are buds rylaff.
Over here in Sydney we have heaps of bottlebrush, some growing wild others of many forms in gardens all over. Most are pretty tough but some like extra watering to do well.
Birds love the flowers and if you trim it after flowering it will bush up nicely (just cut behind the spent flowers) unless you want seed of course!

Oh yes. And so lovely.
I live in North Cyprus and have one of these trees. It is in full bloom, however I notice on some of the branches, there are lots of hard bud like clusters. Does anyone know what these are?
Im new to the bottlebrush tree.We liove in central Florida and just had one planted in October..It bloomed once and i notice my neighbors are blooming again. Should i trim the tree after the blooms go away, and how do i do that? Thanks for any help

I did trim mine last year and it bloomed twice. However, I have one out front that I have never trimmed and it also bloomed twice last year. Go figure.
I am in the high desert of Southeastern Arizona. Here it needs extra water--from our low water use plants to bloom well. It is somewhat cold sensitive here. Unfortunately the former owner who planted it, planted it where it gets the brunt of the cold wind coming down the canyon from the mountains. One winter out of four I had frost damage on the windward side. I waited and patiently trimmed off the dead branches and then did some reshaping to balance the tree and it does well--I have it on a separate soaker from the rest of the garden it is in--and when I remember to give it more water it does well. Our annual rainfall is 12 inches--split between summer monsoon and winter. Basically I only prune it to shape it and do not deadhead it.
I love it but I would not plant it here because of the water need and it is not native--I am committed to our native plants. and here in the desert there are over a thousand that do well and are often spectacular.
