favorite plants for after the blooms?

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

What plants do you think work the best to hide your bulbs after they have bloomed and they start looking like a big mess?

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Depends on your taste and the conditions, but a few suggestions are hardy geraniums, hosta, any annuals that you happen to like eg nicotiana for scent in dappled shade, or any of the more showy ones in full sun.
Grasses, that can be cut down to show the bulbs and then will start to grow again around now.......
er... any more ideas anyone?

hardy geraniums for definite or direct sow South African daisies

I like to plant my Daffodils at the base of my Daylillies. The daylilly foliage hides the yellowing daffs. Also I have used Lady's Mantle to hide tulip foliage. Hostas work well too.

trillium: great idea for the day lilies - I have a lot of new ones this year, so I'll keep that in mind this fall.
