These are very different from the hybrid cultivars so often seen, but I think they have a charm and delicacy which makes them very worthy of a place in the garden
This is Tulipa turkestanica enjoying the sunshine
Species tulips
are they yours? could we swap?
I've grown them in the past, but these are my mum's
She's got loads of turkestanica, so I could send, or bring some in May. But she's only just bought the cretica, which are recommended for an alpine house or frame, so they haven't bulked up yet.
Those are truly great. I love the softness of the muted colors.
Adam.
ask her when you see her next what she would like as a swap for the T turkestanica and say hello for me.
Thanks Adam, they are lovely aren't they?
Mark, what's on offer? Perhaps a smaller growing geranium - though she has the more usual ones.... Or dwarf bulb?
you can choose when you are over and if I can spare it I will.
OK :-)
You were up late!!
yes very and now I'm soooo tired. Margaret was here until 12 for us to go through flights for Edinburgh. it now seems to be off as flights are so expensive. all the cheapies from yesterday are gone. today I'm gonna look into a day trip to Beeches
Oooooooh that would be good too!
My Mum says hello too, and she doesn't need a swap, she's very happy for you to have some so i'll bring them in May, the foliage will be dying down by then
