Wonder if the seeds from the fresh Tamatillo's would grow? I'd love to try them in the garden. I usually buy them in the can to put in my salsa too.

Molly, That is why I am asking for seeds...

We eat both fresh and canned, but the canned ones have been so processed that the seeds are not viable.

Lavanda, just sent you an Email, did you get it?

I'm looking! (for the meail)

And, yes, the can be eaten raw or cooked, but not raw as in eating tomeotes, traditionally, but as an ingredient in a salsa.

You might want to go to Plants Database for physalis ixocarpa or tomatillo which I entred saturday night.

O what I meant to ask was can the seeds from fresh ones be planted? Like if I buy them in the produce dept at the grocery store. I don't think I would even try to grow the seeds from the canned ones.

They probably can- but I have never tried it.

They are teeny tiny little things.

Or you might just buy one really ripe one, and set the whole fruit where you want the plant to grow, let it spoil and see if it will plant itself.

Just my idea- but I dont have enought iem to wait for that.
