Shoe --- here is the recipe I use to make the burgers.
Marinate the mushroom, for no longer then 10 min.( they absorb very quickly) in:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3 minced garlic cloves
black pepper, crushed (to taste)
hot sauce, also to taste
Grill or broil the mmushrooms until tender, just a couple of minutes per side. The last minute top the mushrooms with a favorite cheese, we like fontina or an aged goat cheese.
Use a bun that is crunchy on the outside, like a French Roll.
You can use any number of condiments.
Lettuce
Red Onions
Choppped Green Chiles
Bacon
Tomatoes ---- whatever. They are very good and pretty much fat free too.
