Hi Chamma. I have a similar cactus and have been fascinated by it. I don't know if you are the right person to answer this question by I thought I'd give it a try. Is there a way to startegically increase the buds on its side to improve its shape or form? Thanks.
I guess you could pinch out the unwanted buds....but I don't know if you could graph them in strategic places or not! Has your cactus bloomed?
Bloomed? You mean with a flower? I did not know these things bloomed. Hehehe. :)
Yes let me go take a picture and post it for you!
How long does it take for a bloom to appear and how long will the flower last? Can you hasten the process? Does it bloom frequently?
*It blooms once a year...and the flowers last a couple of days...Patience!!!!!
It likes warmth, well-drained soil and mine gets direct sunlight!
I love these cacti! I have never been able to get them to bud again, though. Guess I don't have Dubai weather conditions. Luckily, I was able to get 3 different colors of buds on very inexpensive plants recently. Now, I have a rosy bud, a multi-colored bud, and a purple bud. And it looks like the purple one has a bloom! I got each one for only 99 cents. I hope they can keep growing this time. Sometimes, snails get to them. I am really hoping to keep them going this time.
My cactus has been blooming now for several weeks...pretty little pink blooms.
