Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It's a beautiful day in the neigborhood here in central Missouri. I'm so glad I got a lot done in the yarden earlier this week or I would be going to work wishing I could stay home. All the raised beds are now pretty well cleaned up and could be planted with just a couple hours work at the most on each one. The garlics are coming up nicely.
We have some darling tiny purple iris reticulata blooming. I really hate that Jack is longer able to see so many of the flowers he loves so much. Especially since we keep adding species and cultivars to our already large collection. There are lots of clumps of daffs with buds forming nicely. Tulips are up and growing but no bloom bud stalks visable to far.
I worked on the herb bed and got the weeds somewhat under control there. One of the sage plants had several dead branches which I pruned back The Horehound is coming back nicely and Southernwood is still taking over that end of the bed.
I did find another tiny rhubarb plant coming up in the row. I guess there is still hope. I do wish that man in CA would do somthing to move that auction into completion. I have a phone number but don't feel I should have to run up a phone bill to get his attention. However I don't know that something hasn't happened to him preventing him from contacting me. I won an auction of some flowering shrubs and will be getting the Carolina Sweet Shrub I've wanted for so long. Now for the Sweet Spire and Summer Sweet shrubs. The itens available on ebay are amazing. I never dreamed I would be buying plants thru it.
Yesterday 9 people from my church went to K.C. to work in some concession stands at Kemper Arena there while the college wrestling teams were there for a regional meet. About 12 people went back today to do the same. I spend several hours yesterday putting huge weiners, polish sausages & bratwurst on one of those heated roller grills and taking them off, putting them into buns, wrapping them in foil & placing them in steam ovens. I did some other jobs, but that was what I did most. Hundreds of the things, I don't care if I see another one for a long time. The one bratwurst I did eat didn't taste all that good either. I think it was because it was toward the end of the day I had handled too many of them already.
Must go get ready for work. GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
