My african musa arrived from Aloha Tropicals yesterday. It is about 20" tall and I was wondering what type of soil to plant it in initially. Just potting soil or a mix of something like what I use for the pineapple?
Also, how large should the first pot be?

When it comes to pot size, start with 1/2 gallon and then move on up! Will you grow it outside this summer and then bring it in for the winter? What is the maximum size it should attain?
Sure thing Shirley will take a pic when I get home, before the kids come. I will put it out just like the pineapple and then bring in for winter.
